becoming a surf instructor in 12 weeks?!?!?!

I’m surfing since five years now and I still consider myself a beginner. maybe a good beginner. if the waves are slow and soft, I’m even an intermediate surfer.

I got to get to know this girl one week ago. she started surfing in morocco middle of september. now, three months and 5.700 euros later she’s a surf instructor!

can someone explain that to me please?!?!?!

happy multiculti easter

hey dear friends & followers,

we’ve been “celebrating” easter here in morocco yesterday: polish christians, austrian atheists and moroccan muslims coming together ;) and we discussed that it’s not about the festival, but more about coming together and spending time with friends and family. so… unite!

hang loose & take care

30 degrees celsius

it’s been 30 degrees celsius in the taghazout area the day before yesterday, but somehow only moroccan men think it’s been warm. it seems as if the local women here need it even warmer considering the outfits they wore… (attention: sarcasm!)

it's getting hot out there, so take off your clothes!

it’s been a while…

hey surferfriends!

wow, I didn’t care about my blog for a rather long time. many things have changed in my life since I decided to travel the world searching for waves. I’m living in morocco by now with my bf. we’re trying to get our surfcamp/surfhostel started next winter season, we wanna start our own surflabel and I’m working online for europe to get some money before everything’s gonna be fine here.

I hope you’re still with me! I’m also planning to become a bodyart-trainer back home in september, because many people ask me if I can teach yoga, which I can’t, but bodyart should be faster and easier to learn and teach afterwards. I’m really looking forward to shaping my body more and more.

sunny greetz from morocco to all of you out there, I missed you!

gecko pee

Image

do the little baby geckos pee from the rooftop? I think so, because today in medewi there have been two raindrops falling on my hand from above, but it wasn’t raining in our room *lol* (although it rains a lot here)

Image

I really like the lefthander here, it’s smooth and nice to beginners and longboarders, although it can get pretty huge.

Image

unfortunately bf is bored of course, because it’s not a proper shortboard-wave. and he starts complaining about everything: the dirty water, the black sand, the rocky beach – oh dear…

from morocco to indonesia

landed_in_bali

finally, after three exhausting flights, we landed in bali. a friend of a friend of mine picked us up at the airport, really cool, because we landed after sunset and it’s always better not to look for a room at night. she managed everything for us in advance – wow! thanks dewi!

surfergirl_bali

but we will move from jimbaran to kuta, because it’s much cheaper there. hopefully we find a somewhat nice place for some nights. I don’t really want to stay in or around kuta for too long. the tourists crack my nerves. I know, we are tourists too, but you know what I mean.

our_surftrip_baggage

I’d rather be in a small village with some nice suferdudes and -girls, nice locals, a good surf during the day and a cold bintang in the evening. hopefully I can convince my bf to go to medewi for some days – he’s not really into it yet, because he’s afraid that the lefthander might be too small for him, which could be true, but for me it would be PERFECT!!!

in_the_plane

that’s the thing when you travel together having different surf skills. but I hope we will not fight too much about it. if you are in or around kuta, let us know. maybe we can join for a session or a drink! :)

allahu akbar (?)

wow, it’s been our first day of ramadan and it was really hard. I decided to join my bf, because it’s just not nice to eat and drink when he cannot. but did you know that it’s also forbidden to use perfume? well, so we will be hungry stinkers for one month ;) the hardest part is that I’m not allowed to touch my bf during daylight – no kisses, no hugs, nothing. well…

my_first_ramadan_breakfast_ever

they say, it doesn’t make any sense to do ramadan without praying – it’s like a donkey who stands in the sun all day long. but do religious traditions make a sense at all? I say, if you believe in them, yes. I like rituals and traditions, although they are not mine. I like eating apples and honey at rosh hashana and believe in a good new year, although I’m not jewish (yet). and I have to lose some weight anyway, so why don’t do ramadan?

we’re in! let’s see for how long…
