(surfers) united

on our big surftrip to indonesia this summer we got to know many “bilateral surfercouples”. it was so beautiful to see how the world slowly but surely starts to unite. I’d love to have a group photo with all of them.

there have been l. from indonesia and m. from japan, then p. from thailand and t. from germany, e. from indonesia and t. from belgium who have a baby now and so on and so forth – just beautiful!

my blog doesn’t have enough traffic to do that, but I’d love to have hundreds of pictures of couples who are from different countries and doing fine! if you are such a couple or if you know one, please help me out.

I hope to have a nice collage or picture-video of many of us soon :)

“eating one week motorbike”

dear surfer-fellows traveling on a budget: do not have dinner in one of the fancy restaurants at jimbaran beach! what a mistake – *lol*. first of all, it wasn’t really nice (the food for 10.000 rupees at kuta beach is way better!!!) and second, “we have been eating one week motorbike” like my bf put it aptly ;)

I hope he will get used to the asian food. until now, he’s not in it at all. he’s searching for food he likes everywhere, but there is no tajine or couscous in indonesia – only rice three times a day. hell, and hes misses the bread…

from morocco to indonesia

finally, after three exhausting flights, we landed in bali. a friend of a friend of mine picked us up at the airport, really cool, because we landed after sunset and it’s always better not to look for a room at night. she managed everything for us in advance – wow! thanks dewi!

but we will move from jimbaran to kuta, because it’s much cheaper there. hopefully we find a somewhat nice place for some nights. I don’t really want to stay in or around kuta for too long. the tourists crack my nerves. I know, we are tourists too, but you know what I mean.

I’d rather be in a small village with some nice suferdudes and -girls, nice locals, a good surf during the day and a cold bintang in the evening. hopefully I can convince my bf to go to medewi for some days – he’s not really into it yet, because he’s afraid that the lefthander might be too small for him, which could be true, but for me it would be PERFECT!!!

that’s the thing when you travel together having different surf skills. but I hope we will not fight too much about it. if you are in or around kuta, let us know. maybe we can join for a session or a drink! :)

once upon a time…

…a surfergirl started packing! yeah!!! I waited so long for this moment :) well, I know – I start early, but I will have to do a lot of packing and unpacking until I’m really done. it’s not so easy to pack for three months, I never did that before. but it’s such a lot of fun! and anticipation is growing immensely :)))

I need your help…

aloha my beloved friends and followers,

you know that I’ve quit my job and I want to go to morocco to visit my boyfriend again in april 2013. in june or july we want to go together to indonesia and to the philippines, because he doesn’t need a visa for these countries. my love doesn’t have enough money for the flight though (he has never been anywhere outside his own country yet) and I’m not able to pay for him…

I know it is a big thing to ask and I’m not really feeling comfortable, but if you could help us with some euros, dirham, dollars, rupees, pesos, bahts, dinars, shekels or whatever – we would be more than happy and thankful! I will get in contact with every donator and see what I can give in return.

I really want to show my baby the lovely waves of the indian ocean soon :)

surfers unite!

I am in a (more or less) relationship with a moroccon surfer since last year, end of october. it’s amazing, awesome, fascinating and exciting but on the other hand – of course – also challenging, weird, exhausting and difficult sometimes.

we share the passion for surfing, for music, the sun, the ocean and for each other. I don’t know if this is enough, but I will definitely give it a try. every now and then I’m telling another friend or relative about my love. some of them react positive and are happy that I’m happy. but many of them are against our international “project”.

it was really a devastating experience for me to see some of my “oh so” academic and cosmopolitan friends behave like fucking nazis (sorry, I’m exaggerating here). they don’t think our love is true, they think he’s in me because of financial issues, they think we don’t have a future.

maybe they are right, but you know what!? I have to give it a try, because I’m not into a black man, not into a muslim, not into a poor fellow – I’m in love with a human being.
