About

as a child, I loved being abroad and hanging around at airports – then there was this time when I had to leave a beloved person behind and I started to be somewhat afraid and panicking when I was travelling – the person is history now for many years already and suddenly, my love and lust to discover the world has grown again, immensely.

there is this book project of mine, an already written story that just seeks for its polishing which will happen really soon. a more then true story. absolutely pure. if it works out, it may be my ticket for freedom. in the meantime, being in the line-up, wavesurfing, is my soul’s balm.

…I realized every surfer has to like paddling, at least a little. this was because extremely little of each surf session is spent actually standing up on your surfboard on a wave – maybe one percent – so if you’re looking to have a good time it’s essential to find a way to enjoy paddling, or at least good-naturedly bear it. and in that way, I thought, surfing is kind of a good metaphor for the rest of life.” (jaimal yogis)

in may 2013 at the latest, I will leave my so-called life behind to go for a six-month surfing vacation – visiting india, sri lanka, lombok, the philippines and israel. keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned… :)

UPDATE (2013-02-03)

meeting my moroccan boyfriend in october 2012, my plans are now a little bit different of course. I also want to visit him at the beginning of my journey and it would be great if he could come with me to asia – he wants to, but he hasn’t got enough money for such a trip. I will not go to the indian surf ashram, because I’m not quite sure anymore if that’s the thing I want, so – today – the plan is to go to morocco first, followed by my beloved sri lanka, then to the andaman and nicobar islands, afterwards to lombok and definitely to the philippines. whether I will be able to volunteer in israel or not depends on the relationship to my love – if everything’s still fine between us, I might delay israel – we’ll see :)

UPDATE (2013-06-14)

we are going to indonesia and the philippines for eight weeks from july to september. if any of you surfers out there wants to give us advice where to stay, please feel free! we would really appreciate it! before and after our surftrip I will spend time in morocco and hope to get to know the family and their culture even better. it will be my fourth time with my bf :)

I still can’t believe how things worked out since I started this blog one year ago… oh and please keep your fingers crossed that I can kick my own ass and publish this book!!!

for someone who is moroccan, I don’t think he needs visa to the philippines. I don’t know about Indonesia but PH, I guess not. I hope you guys enjoy your trip to the PH. Boracay Islands, Cebu or the Visayan regions are must to see. If you’re a little fancy, Bellaroca Beach and Resort in the island of Marinduque is also a must see!
